About Cool Symbols
A free AI-powered toolkit for symbol art, aesthetic text, and Unicode discovery — built for creators, gamers, designers, and anyone who likes their text with a little extra sparkle.
What we do
Cool Symbols is a small web app with three things rolled into one. First, an AI symbol art studio that turns plain prompts into ASCII drawings, stylized usernames, aesthetic bios, block-letter logos, decorated text, and pixel art. Second, a fancy text generator with 22 different Unicode styles — bold, italic, script, fraktur, double-struck, monospace, bubble letters, and more. Third, a curated copy-paste library of hearts, stars, arrows, dividers, and themed symbol packs.
Why free, and why no ads (yet)
We think every internet citizen deserves access to expressive text without paywalls, account walls, or watermarks. The static parts of the site — the symbol library, fancy fonts, and aesthetic dividers — cost us essentially nothing to host and will always be unlimited. The AI features have real per-request costs, so we cap them at 20 free generations per IP per day. That's enough for daily creative use and keeps the service sustainable without charging anyone.
How it's built
The site is a single static HTML page served from Vercel's edge network — that's why it loads instantly anywhere in the world. The AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude Haiku, which we call through a thin serverless proxy so your inputs never touch a third-party tracking script. Every fancy font transformation runs locally in your browser using Unicode math/symbol blocks — there's no server round-trip for any of the non-AI features.
Who we are
We're a tiny team of one or two people who build internet tools we wish existed. Cool Symbols is part hobby, part craft, part useful. If you want to say hi, suggest a feature, or report something broken, the door is always open at our contact page.
What's next
On the roadmap: dedicated SEO pages for popular symbol categories, a Telegram/Discord bot version, an open API for developers, optional sign-in for saving favorite arrangements, and (eventually) a Pro tier that removes the AI daily cap for people who use the tool heavily.
