These terms govern your use of Cool Symbols ("the service") at cool-symbols.net. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

Cool Symbols provides free web-based tools for generating decorative text, copying Unicode symbols, and creating AI-generated symbol art, usernames, and bios. We may add, change, or remove features at any time without notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Generate content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or in the jurisdictions of our hosting and AI providers (notably content that sexualizes minors, incites violence, promotes terrorism, or facilitates fraud).
• Harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate real individuals.
• Attempt to bypass the daily AI rate limit by automated means, multiple IPs, or any technical workaround.
• Scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site for the purpose of building a competing service.
• Reverse-engineer, probe for vulnerabilities, or otherwise disrupt the service or its infrastructure.

We may block access to the service, temporarily or permanently, for users who violate these terms.

AI-generated content

The AI features produce output based on your prompts, generated by the Claude model from Anthropic. The output is provided "as is" without warranty as to accuracy, originality, or fitness for any purpose. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before using it publicly or commercially.

Ownership: to the extent any rights can vest in AI-generated text or symbol art, we claim none over the output produced for you. You may use AI outputs you generate for any lawful purpose — personal, educational, or commercial — without attribution. Note that AI outputs may not be copyrightable in all jurisdictions, and similar prompts may produce similar outputs for other users.

Static symbol library and fancy fonts

The Unicode symbols and fancy-font transformations on the site are based on publicly defined Unicode characters. No party owns these characters; you may copy and use them freely.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that any AI output will be accurate, appropriate, or original.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Third-party services

The service relies on Vercel for hosting and Anthropic for AI processing. Their terms and privacy policies apply to the parts of the service they handle.

Changes

We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the most recent change. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction to the extent they cannot be displaced by choice. Any dispute should first be raised with us by email so we can try to resolve it informally.
