Privacy Policy

We built Cool Symbols to be a privacy-friendly tool. We don't sell data, we don't run advertising trackers, and we store as little information as possible — only what's strictly needed to keep the AI features free and usable for everyone.

What we collect

For the symbol library, fancy text generator, and dividers

Nothing. These features run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data leaves your device. We don't see what you type or what you copy.

For the AI tools (the "Generate" button)

When you submit an AI generation request, we receive the following:

• The text inputs you typed (e.g., the subject of an ASCII drawing or the theme for a username)
• The AI mode you selected (ASCII Art, Name Generator, Bio Builder, etc.)
• Your IP address — used only to enforce the daily free limit. We hold it in volatile memory paired with a date, not in any persistent database.

Your inputs are forwarded to Anthropic, the operator of the Claude AI model that generates the output. We do not log or persist your inputs or the AI's outputs after the response is returned to you. Anthropic processes inputs according to their own privacy policy and Commercial Terms — notably, Anthropic states that API inputs from commercial customers are not used to train their models.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use cookies, localStorage analytics, or third-party tracking pixels. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which records aggregated, anonymized page-view counts and does not set cookies or use personal identifiers. You can read about it on Vercel's documentation site.

Third parties we rely on

• Vercel — hosts the website and runs the serverless function that proxies AI requests. Vercel's logs may temporarily contain request metadata (IP, user agent, URL).
• Anthropic — provides the Claude AI model that generates ASCII art, usernames, bios, and other AI outputs.
• Google Search Console — used for verifying ownership of the site for search engine optimization purposes. No user data is shared with this service.

Children

The site is generally suitable for all ages — it produces text and symbol art. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and we have no account system that could collect it.

Your rights

Because we store no persistent personal data tied to you, there's nothing to download, correct, or delete. If you have questions or want to flag a concern, contact us at info@cool-symbols.net.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for a reasonable period.
